S) is for 'Safe'; Keep your personal details away from strangers.
M) is for 'Meet'; Don't meet anyone that you donn't know online unless you're with a trusted adult.
A) is for 'Accept'; Don't click any links you're unsure about. Ask a trusted adult.
R) is for 'Reliable'; Don't believe everything people tell you. Always check trusted sources to find the truth.
T) is for 'Tell'; If you see something online that upsets you, tell a trusted adult straight away.
Great things about Social Media
Social Media has opened up doors, that couldn't have been possible any other way. From transcontinental messaging, to being able to send great Emojis to your friend sitting accross the room.
It has allowed us as a human race to progress. And without it we wouldn't be who we are today.
Why should kids be allowed Social Media?
Kids are our future, and the younger generation are alwasy going to be tech-savvy.
Personally, I believe kids should be allowed to use Social media, This could be for multiplte reasons - such as talking with friends, or even just not feeling left out. However I also firmly beleive you need to make them aware of what is right and wrong on the internet. and how to report something if there is anything wrong they find.
I think they should stick to the age restrictions on apps, as they are there for reasons. They will keep them safe.
